Seed to Sprout Nutrition LLC is a culmination of my heart and passions: nutrition, motherhood, and providing support for the most important phases of human development: pregnancy, postpartum, and infancy. I place high value on the nutrition needs of mama/birthing parent and baby during this time of critical development. In the postpartum period, there is so much focus on baby, as there should be, but mamas/birthing parents need good care and attention, too. From healing and recovery after birth to supporting breastmilk production to getting back to your health and fitness goals, nutrition is a key component to taking care of yourself and your baby.

As a registered dietitian, I provide individualized, evidenced-based nutrition therapy to you and your growing baby. With over seven years of experience in hospital and community settings, caring for infants, children, and adults, I bring the knowledge, experience, and confidence needed to address your important nutrition concerns. Together, we will find effective, evidence backed nutrition interventions that will support your goals.

More on my education and experience:

After completing my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology/exercise science from Western Washington University, I completed my master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, and exercise physiology at Washington State University, and then became a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. I have worked in the community providing nutrition counseling for ages birth to 3 years old, as well as in the hospital environment, providing medical nutrition therapy for infants, children, and adults, including antepartum, pediatric intensive care, general pediatric, and pediatric oncology units, which has provided me with extensive knowledge on a variety of nutrition related issues. I have experience in infant growth, food allergies, gastrointestinal complications, introducing solid foods, nutritional deficiencies, and more.

As for personal experience, being pregnant, giving birth, and then feeding my son, were all challenging and amazing in their own ways. Applying my professional knowledge to each stage made me feel empowered to make decisions for the two of us. We experienced significant feeding difficulties in the first few weeks of his life, and having the support of lactation and other resources was invaluable. My personal experiences fuels my desire to support other parents during these really important life phases.
